Chinese Privet Hedge (Ligustrum Sinense) is an invasive species that was brought to the US in the 1800's as an ornamental bush.  When maintained as an ornamental bush in a garden, it poses little problem.  When left to grow unchecked in the wild, it will completely displace native species.
